FRIED PLANTAINS

FRIED PLANTAINS - Plátanos maduros (mature, ripe)

Before frying the plantain you should learn little bit of plantain: Plantain is a crop in the genus Musa (is one of three genera in the family Musaceae; it includes bananas and plantains) and is generally used for cooking, in contrast to the soft, sweet banana (which is sometimes called the dessert banana).

Ingredients
·  Soft, very ripe and sweet yellow plantains
·  125gr vegetable oil per plantain (apx. 25cm long)

Heat the oil in frying pan over medium heat.

Remove the skins from plantains and slice them about 5cm thick and fry in oil until they got golden brown.

After get them out from fryer with back site of one desert dish flatten them thickness of less than 1cm (apx. 75mm).

Fry them one more time but much less time, just get back the heat.

Depends to your preference “I like with cheese (Queso Costena)”, so as soon as get them off the frying pan place the cheese at top of the plantains and let it little cold and wait cheese melts.

Enjoy it like a pre-desert or as a side dish…
